Looking back on 2010
Was just thinking back about 2010 and the highlights of that year for me.
Being stranded in Majorca because of the Icelandic Volacano, which was'nt too bad because we had an extra week's hoilday. We were the lucky ones and was able to stay at the resort till everything blew over(pardon pun).
My son's voice breaking...still getting used to that one.("is there a stranger in the house")
Addition of two more baby girls into our family.....when we gonna have a another boy.Girl…

Song Cliches
I was thinking the other day the often used the cliches in songs surrounding honey and bees. Don't ask me how I got here but I did. How many times has the honey/bees and even the sting of bees used in songs? (Surprisingly, it's not in the song "Every Rose Has It's Thorn") I'd like to list them for no other reason other than to list them. Please join!
"Honey for the Bees" - Alison Moyet
"Nothing Ever Hurt Like You" - James Morrison
These are the only two I can…

So far, so good
Well, one lesson and lots of practice later and still no visit from the police or envoronmental health officers! Result! Have been to see my direct neighbours and they are ok with it - maybe we'll see how that works out in a month or so.
Think I'm doing well - guy teaching me says have got rhythm and can hold a consistent beat. Says everything else can be learned. Can hold a decent 4/4 on hi-hat, snare and bass. Have now spent (what feels like) hours practicing this, weirdly…

Electa's new single Heart Talks is online
Electa's new single Heart Talks (two pop/rock songs) is now online. To listen, please kindly go to PAGE SEVEN of MSTS Music Studio's site at http://www.kolumbus.fi/msts/ – thank you. :) Also the lyrics (English) and basic info of the songs are there awaiting you.
As already stated, these only simple pop/rock songs, nothing more (and nothing less). But because I want to give Electa (she' only 17!) some support, I dare post this item here. I…

Learning to play drums
Well, the title says it all. Am learning to play the drums, relatively late in life, so I thought I'd write a blog about it to keep a track to myself as much as anything (if anyone else ever reads it and enjoys it then so much the better).
Might be most boring thing ever - if it turns out that way I will give up forthwith! Given that I'm a bit of a rambler (as in talking, not walking) I will no doubt witter on about life, the universe and everything. Again, if it gets tedious or too…

Today's Blast o' Rock & Roll
It took 35 years -- 35 years! - for one of the greatest Detroit rock & roll albums ever recorded to see the light of day...
The album is For the World To See. The band is Death. Recorded in 1974, released in 2009, this is quite simply as good as it gets. For fans of the MC5, The…
