Rock show starts at 8pm, I get home in time for reasonable amount of sleep. This rocks!

Last night I trooped out to Precinct in Somerville MA see awesome Boston Fop-Rockers The Upper Crust, I wish this story was about how awesome they were, because they are, but actually it's about how I was excited to get out, see a band at 8PM. There was no opener, it was straight on to headliner for 3 sets for $10.  I was home by 11:15.  More bars should do these early shows on a weeknight.  I know they want to be open all night, but why not get drinkers in early instead of seeing if you can…See More

I totally met Michael Nesmith and I didn't pass out

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
