POWER POP! My 2 bands, B.A. Taylor & the Black Nobility, Dynamic Ribbon Device / DRD. Song writing, recording.
B. A. Taylor & the Black Nobility are an Australian based band formed in 2009 and is the solo project of B.A. Taylor ( vocals / guitar ) from the Melbourne power pop / progressive band Dynamic Ribbon Device / DRD. The prolific Taylor felt it was time for a solo CD hence his debut album ‘Apostasy’. B.A. Taylor & the Black Nobility are not afraid to wear their late 70’s musical hearts proudly on their sleeves and do so proudly on their debut 13 track album 'Apostasy'. bataylor.com
DRD was always going to be an interesting melting pot of ideas and tonal shades. Loosely DRD's collective sound could be described as Power Pop meets Prog Rock. Taylor whose love of all things Beatles and other bands that were influenced by them such as XTC, 10cc, Squeeze, Neil Finn etc was always going to add the pop/rock instant accessibility to DRD’s sound. Bowers whose eclectic tastes include Roxy Music, Lou Reed, Love, Captain Beefheart, Velvet Underground etc brings a dreamy casualness to the DRD mix, his songs have a habit of popping back into your head long after you’ve turned off your MP3 / CD player. It has been said that Duncan who is attracted to things left of centre is a truely original song writer, his approach to the craft has been described as sometimes a little dark, sometimes child-like but above all honest. DRD released their debut album ‘Elysian Fields’ in 2002 DRD's 2nd release 'Codex Nefarius' was released in Europe in 2011. drdband.com

"Lullaby for the Working Class
Spare, mellow, almost ambient alt-country band from the late 90s.
I'm almost embarrassed that I'm only discovering them now.
Some loose personnel associations with Bright Eyes.

"It's truly incredible, how his attitude seems to have changed. He PERFORMED with the remaining Monkees, something I swear he said he would never do again after the '80s. It is baffling. As for the meeting, he was so gracious and answered…"
"Harry, I was moved to buy that song based upon your post. And Anna, it is WAY cool to meet Mr. Nesmith. In all of my readings, he was very reclusive and didn't make public appearances...and damn sure didn't reaffirm his former…"
