Once again, I've put together my annual Yuletide Mix of interesting artists and songs, most (but not all) with a psych pop or power pop vibe. The 2012 edition features new bands such as The Sufis (great new psych pop from Nashville, much like The Paperhead) and The UFO Club (Christian Bland of the Black Angels and Lee Blackwell of The Night Beats) along with several long-time favorites. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt.
