Stephanie Ratcliffe replied to Steve's discussion Best Clash Song... Ever! in the group Clash City Rockers
"I like that tune--it has some different elements. It starts out Clash City Rockers-ish, and then goes Devo-ish, ends up  with a little southern rock. fun!"

"On their first three albums they've got the best of the bunch opening: Janie Jones, Safe European Home, London Calling. Between a rock and a hard place, I'd choose Safe European Home. "

Vic Paric replied to Steve's discussion Best Clash Song... Ever! in the group Clash City Rockers
"The Clash's whole career was one big glorious F-you to the establishment, but if I had to single out one song I would go with "Death or Glory". Despite that song's assertion that everyone sells out eventually, the Clash never did…"

Stephanie Ratcliffe replied to Steve's discussion Best Clash Song... Ever! in the group Clash City Rockers
"I don't know if The Clash is my favorite of all time (I'd need an entire weekend of meditation to really know that one) but it's up there. I am going to vote on the songs given here by other Clash fans. My fave album in entirety is…"

Stan Schwieger replied to Steve's discussion Best Clash Song... Ever! in the group Clash City Rockers
" The studio version is quite fine, but several "alternative" live recordings of this song exist, and it is positively vicious.  You almost get cut with the ferocity.  I would put Wrong 'Um Boyo as Favorite 1A."

Jon Bard replied to Steve's discussion Best Clash Song... Ever! in the group Clash City Rockers
"Gates of the West is definitely a dark horse.  I heard a slowed down version sung by a guy names Adam Masterson and I finally realized how profound it was lyrically.   I've been reading "Route 19 Revisited", a book that…"

""You been wearin' blue and brown" has been a running joke among friends since I was a teen. Love Clampdown. My nod for best is London Calling. The opening is an anthem that gets your attention and never lets go, even after the final…"

Billy Miller replied to Steve's discussion Best Clash Song... Ever! in the group Clash City Rockers
"I mentioned Clampdown, but White Riot and London's Burning were right up there too. The first time I heard Lost in the Supermarket, I went to Guitar Center and bought a phaser for my pedal board just trying to get that sound. My other personal…"
