There is a group of bands that I should just out and out love, but for whatever reason, they have never risen to the lofty heights.  Not that their stuff ain’t all that, because many time it is  It…Continue

Great "country" songs by Rock Artists.

Many, many great "country songs" have been written and performed by otherwise straight rockers.  Let's post some examples to show that you don't have to wear sequined clothing or wear your hair in a…Continue

AM Radio Hits

To the great run of AM "hit" radio!  Before FM "underground" stations, AM was it.  Some songs just bring back that memory of trying to tune in that distant station, or jamming the static filled noise to 11.   Name those songs, jocks, stations, etc.

Despite my warnings below, I listened.  (As Hunter Thompson used to say, "After all, I am a Professional.")  It reminded me of this movie exchange:

Labour of Lust to be rereleased!

I know there are tons of Nick Lowe fans here in the Tribe who will welcome the rerelease of that great album. YepRoc featured Mr. Lowe and a lengthy interview about all the alcohol induced recordings that make up one of Mr. Lowe's classics--"Lowe sets the record straight on a few of our long-burning questions about the album. 'I can't remember having a plan at all, but it was terrific fun,' he says."  See it all here:

I totally met Michael Nesmith and I didn't pass out

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt.
