After about a thousand hours of basic 4/4 practice am actually now playing things I like! Well - playing might be overstating it, I rarely get through an entire song without losing at least one element at some point (many points!), but it feels like playing to me. Have had a go at some very basic fills too.

Had a good bash at 'Home By The Sea' and 'Owner of a Lonely Heart' this weekend - very good practice for different rhythms (as well as being two of my all-time favourite songs).…

Well, one lesson and lots of practice later and still no visit from the police or envoronmental health officers! Result! Have been to see my direct neighbours and they are ok with it - maybe we'll see how that works out in a month or so.

Well, the title says it all. Am learning to play the drums, relatively late in life, so I thought I'd write a blog about it to keep a track to myself as much as anything (if anyone else ever reads it and enjoys it then so much the better).
