A few of my high school friends went to Rutgers in the late '80s-early '90s. I had an aunt and uncle in Maplewood for a couple years in the '90s. I was in Hoboken from '95 to '99. The artists and musicians were still there, but the yuppies had taken over.

Yes, it would be good to meet up at Toad sometime! It looks like Todd Thibaud is touring Europe this month. Maybe there's another show we could catch there soon.

Re: Francona -- As is often the case in professional sports, the manager is held accountable for his team's failures. He had a good run though. Might Theo Epstein leave as well?

Did you grow up in NJ? How did your sister end up teaching in Princeton Junction? (At West Windsor-Plainsboro High?)

My friend Pat Keating also went to Babson at night for his MBA from 2003 to 2009. He and I did a Brookline Access TV show together based on his Babson College Radio show. It was a lot of fun, tons of great guests, mostly local musicians with an occasional big name (Graham Parker, Sister Hazel).

I totally met Michael Nesmith and I didn't pass out

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
