"Well, that sounds like a "Not Lame Label" best-of list to me.   (including the Ice Cream Hands album,w hich NL released in 1997, in an updated, superior fashion).   What exquisite taste you exhibit, James.  ;-P"

Profile Information

My favorite music artists are....
Always hate this question - funny for a guy who's been working in the music biz for over 20 years. I'm a pantheist. I worship at the altar of pretty much everything but I have serious fetish for early/mid 70s hard rock(the more obscure, the better), early 70s funk 'n soul, Stax/Volt, power pop(of course), AM Radio circa 1971, prog rock, 20th century classical music, Miles Davis(he stands alone in his own genre), 70s singer/songwriter, late 70s/early 80s AOR - uh, okay, the skeletons are starting to come out of my closet, best I stop.

All Time Fave Artists: Big Star(always my #1), Be Bop Deluxe, The Nits, XTC, Sparks, Black Sabbath, 70s Judas Priest, Yes, Genesis(last album I love? "Wind And Wuthering'".
Interests & Hobbies
Big reader, mostly rock bios and music anthologies, business books, personal development has been hot of late. Drinking good tequila, always. Living in Colorado for so long, lots of hiking and skiing are still big - don't get old, get rock, right? Must say the 48 yr old Bruce would kick the 28 yr old Bruce's ass on the slopes. Hanging with my wife and kids w/ whatever we're doing *is* a hobby, the more I parent. Still have a teenager who digs being with her Dad so riding that one as long as it goes - hoping the one following will feel the same.

That said, I am looking for parenting advice in the "How To Raise A Rock 'n Roll Kid" column as my kids just don't rock hard enough yet.

Rock And Roll Monks...

Okay, the "Hallelujah" chorus is not rock 'n roll...but the attitude with these highs school students doing some classical 'glee'-ness is, imho. It gets better as it goes on. 'tis the season, too.…

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
