Pete Best Vs. Ringo Starr

Started by Dennis Holseybrook. Last reply by Vic Paric Jun 30, 2011. 8 Replies

I met Pete Best backstage after one his shows. We talked briefly, but it was enough for him to tell me he believes he is a better drummer than Ringo. However, he has a second drummer in his band who…Continue

30 years ago today John Lennon was murdered. Where were you when this happened? Did his murder affect you in anyway?

Terrific, Jon!  Reminds me of a band I saw several times in Illinois..."American English" No go go dancers, though...nice touch! :)

Saw this show in Vegas -- lotta fun.  The band is 100% live with no backing tracks and they're really pretty good.  The vintage Vox amps were a nice touch too.

They've moved to a different theatre since this vid was shot and the background is far less cheesy than what's on here.  For example, they actually do quite a nice job of recreating the Ed Sullivan show stage and such.

I have to agree with Rusty.  Any previously unseen photo of the Beatles is always appreciated. Thanks!

Jon, a very cool picture. I've never seen it before. New Beatles stuff is always cool. Except for holographic Beatle reunions.....

Check this out:

A photo of the Beatles as they prepared to cross Abbey Road for their iconic pic.  Paul's still got his flop flops on!

A review of The Allman Brothers Band -One Way Out-

This is one of the finest books that I have read in a long time. This book is fascinating and doesn’t let up. Alan Paul’s well documented history warts and all on the Allman Brothers Band is a fascinating and reverting account told by not only the band members but by the people that have been a part of the band and their…See More

Johnny Cash - The Sun Years -1954-1958

When the barriers that separated pop and country music began to crumble in the wake of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash was one the first young country artists to take a place in the pop charts. Ironically, as hillbilly music slicked itself up in search of a wider market. Johnny Cash, broke through with a sound that was so sparse and under -produced that it must have seemed anachronistic even to the more conservative elements of the Nashville establishments. Johnny Cash was born in the remote rural…See More
