Okay, if you made a list of great Southern Rock albums, it would have Filmore East, Street Survivors, etc. But what about the ones that get overlooked?  Lots of good stuff out there that doesn't get…Continue

I personally believe that Blackfoot is one of the most underrated southern rock bands of all. As a guitarist, Ricky Medlocke never got the respect he deserved.

Hello fellow southern rockers I just thought I might add something to the group.I WON A LYNYRD SKYNYRD SIGNED GUITAR .I put my name into a drawing from Nights with Alice Cooper radio show and I actually won .Its a beauty it only took about a week to get here and I will be hanging it on the living room wall.I have been an avid autograph collector for 30 years. I have really wanted one of these for along time and I guess sometimes God does give you stuff you want and dont relly need .This is my first post since joining so I hope it was interesting .Thanks

I had forgotten about Blackberry Smoke, but I saw them when they opened for ZZ Top and they were a pretty fair band.

Just like all us Southerners are not alike, neither are alot of the Southern bands.
Yes, the ARS had some ballads on their albums, but live, they could blow just about anyone off the stage. They were consumate musicians, and great songwriters, too. Sort of like the Southern Steely Dan, orr Eastcoast Eagles.
It's no secret Ronnie Van Zant was a huge fan. And the man always had great taste. So put on "Large Time" and "Homesick" if you want to rock. The live version of "Another Man's Woman" to hear the best bass solo ever. And "Dog
Days" to hear one of the greatest southern ballads ever written and recorded.
God bless the Boys from Doraville!

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
