Late again, but I think Bozzio's work with UK and Zappa would qualify him for prog status.

UK were scheduled to bring their reunion tour to my neck of the woods but suddenly they're in Delaware instead. Shame I won't be able to see them now.

I love mastodon, they are like dream theatre in a way. Prog sensibiities, psychodleic brilliance and heavy as can be but would anyone consider them to be prog?

Don't know if Prog-land is the spot for this, but my uncle took drum lessons from Terry Bozzio for years, became a good bud of his, kept in touch forever, says he's a great guy, etc ;>)

Arnold if you dug the first one there is now way you won't dig Falling Farther In to high heaven, it's ecellent.]

Like I said, the 3rd one is more like "them unplugged" so to speak.....

Related:  this one may spark a "duh" or a no kidding, buy those who dig this stuff should check out Alison Moyet's solo albums, all of them

October Project ... there's one that I haven't heard since the late 80's/early 90's.

I highly recommend their self titled Debut CD. Don't think I've ever heard their second release! Will have to seek it out.

My $0.02!

Magenta are pretty amazing... funny you should mention Annie Haslam in the same breath as Christina (Booth).... when I saw Magenta a few years back at ROSFest in PA, Annie came out on stage and introduced the band! Subsequently, Annie did a Duet with Magenta. The EP (if you can still find it) is called "Night and Day" definitely worthy addition to the collection of any Magenta or Renaissance fan!

Magenta are a great band. Really looking forward to their new album due this fall. If you go to their website you'll find a really awesome video of them covering "Wondering Stories".

I might have to go check out October Project now...

with hints of Annie Haslam about the singers voice>>

Marc, if this is what you're after (along with great music), have you checked out the October Project?

2 albums, the s/t debut and then "Falling Farther In".....then a big hiatus before a 3rd album that is a little more stripped down, less lush/bombastic, but less in their wheelhouse too, I guess, I'd say that one's for completeists only

I'm sure I'm late to the Party on this one but I've just discovered Magenta and their album seven. Wonderful old school pro with hints of Annie Haslam about the singers voice - highly recommended.

Iencourage all to check out a Prog/Psych/Experimental band that comes out of Mlps. MN. Thunderbolt Pagoda. Here is a link to their My space page.
