If you're a New Jersey pop aficionado, you had to like 2011. There were great CDs from The Smithereens, Meyerman, and Fountains of Wayne. Are there any I missed? Continue

Comment by Heikki on January 24, 2011 at 3:00pm Thank you. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, innit? If you wanna hear Bon Jovi (in their prime) taste some Johnny Lima (from California, though as far as I can recall).
Vinnie James (part Native American, part North African and born in Newark, I guess but moved to California and now lives somewhere in Great Britain, I presume) carried the torch of Bruce (and/or Mellencamp from Indiana, I'm afraid) pretty well, too. See/hear http://rockandrolltribe.com/forum/topics/underdiscovered-1?id=58626...
I know, I'll stop before I digress too much.

Comment by Heikki on January 24, 2011 at 2:37pm To begin with, I'm not worthy. Been to New Jersey only once. In the neighborhood, somewhat more often. Anyhow, I'd definitely mention Southside Johnny who implicitly was sort of nominated via Steve Van Zandt. Furthermore, Little Steven also produced and collaborated w/ Demoliton 23 (fronted by one Michael Monroe). Also later on, he's shown to have ear for all things good. I would also bring up My Chemical Romance regardless how many fellow tribers may hate 'em. I used to like 'em a lot and still like 'em. At least, a few years back they were absolutely fantastic live, too.
