Rock and Roll Tribe

A Global Army of Veteran Rockers

Rhino Bucket, Jackyl, The Upper Crust, and on some songs, Supagroup. What are some others who are almost AC/DC tribute bands? Or maybe there are some bands who have one song that sounds like an homage?

Thomas those acdc immitataors seem to be a dime a dozen. The cassanovas were very similiar to begin with but grew a bit over time. The Poor featured one of acdc's nephews and sounded very similiar too. Airbourne are very similiar to brian Johnson era acdc. Electric Mary have a fair bit of that acdc sound too. Considering all those bands are Australian hard rock its probably to be expected. Ironicaly Whitesnake do a song called fool for your loving in which the guitar is very acdc. I get calssic rock magazine every month and can hear the influence in lots of acts or maybe its just that the twelve bar blues version of hard rock is very common. Im glad it is though because Im a huge fan of the cassanovas and enjoy listening to most of these artists listed. The cassanovas only have two albums and both are great. I am familiar with Rhino Bucket and had one of their albums back in the tape days and didnt mind it.

The Four Horsemen. They were a late 80's/early 90's Rick Rubin product. They had a southern bent to them along with  Junkyard, Raging Slab, Circus of Power.

The Cult's 'Electric'.

The Cult's Electric! Have the Love Removal Machine single, must buy the whole album.

Shermo-hadn't heard of The Casanovas and The Poor, put them on my "to buy" list.

Roy is the vices album by circus of power good? I know call of the wild was a great song. The four horsemen were great. Kind of like a cross between acdc and the Black Crowes.

There's one or two cool tunes on Vices, otherwise,  a weak sophmoric effort. Their 1st record is where it's at.
Krokus had quite a few good tunes to 'em.
The Cult are really good Thomas. Ive heard a heap of UFO songs but the ones off the Black and Blue album have a major ACDC guitar sound to them. UFO were huge in europe if you hadnt heard of them. Some of the Scorpions songs have a real ACDC sound to the guitar as well. Songs like "cant live without you", "he's a woman-she's a man" and "Aleyah" all have that same kind of big ACDC style hard rock guitar. Im u huge fan of this style of music so dont be surprised if more comes to mind. Come to think of it, what ive heard of the stone gods is very ACDCish.
The Angels or Angel City as they're also known. http://youtu.be/seNhsRdjGh4
Rose Tattoo. Of course, this sample is a bit more bluesy w/ slide an' all.

Heikki, those are two of my favourite live bands. I seen Doc neesons Angels when they were on hiatus and the consert was awesome. Rose tattoo was one of the best concerts ive ever been to although I dont think ive seen so many fights at any other gig. Angry Anderson is such a livewire frontman.

Thomas the Angels have a live double cd compilation called liveline if you havnt heard it it contains most of their best work and they rock harder live. Am I ever going to see your face again live is without compare. I guess even though we miss out on a lot of tours over here in Australia we are lucky enough to see great acts that tend to not make it so big outside of Austrlia. Rose tattos self titled album is great.

"Cold hard bitch" by Jet is a killer ACDC style riff. Once more another solid Aussie band.

I totally met Michael Nesmith and I didn't pass out

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
