Excellent Book- It covers his childhood,  his  time as a commercial artist and his rise at the factory very well.

I really liked Ace's book. He comes clean about his days with Kiss, inncluding his feelings about Gene Simmons. He talks about his bouts the booze, and how he hit rock bottom and how he bounced back. A great read.

I am not into hollywood types, but I always loved Clint especially his westerns. This was not bad. From his humble beginnings to the man he is today. It's all here warts and all. The good, the bad, and the ugly

I just finished "Early Queen", keeping along w/ my recent early Queen obsession w/ the latest round of reissues - not as juicy as "Is This The Real Life?" but fans of the band will enjoy the deep look into the youth and founding years of the band.....quick read, too.  I adore books w/ subject lines as these that arrive at under 150 pages as, generally, that is all the really require....

Finaly got through keith Richards 'Life'. So hard to find time to read. Was one of the best biographies I have read in along time.

I think "Life" is one ofthe best rock bios in many  years - eminently affable, enjoyable and, one gets the sense, quite a bit of it is in Keith's voice - which is refreshing considering how ghost writers work.   Next rock bio on deck is "Is This The Real Life?  The Untold Queen Story".   We'll see if it holds my interest for the post-'80 years - mostly interested in 70s Queen, musically.....

I enjoyed "Kink" by Dave Davies and Ron Wood's autobiography.  Would love to see Bowie write one.

I posted on mediia people love asking what peoples favourite musical auto biographies or biographies are but didnt get any response. I love reading the really interesting ones and would love to hear peoples faves so i can track them down. It doesnt matter if the artist is one I like so long as its riveting like Billy Thorpes "sex, thugs and rock and roll" was. That book was brilliant. Im sure Roy Anderson could name a few bieng a librairier that I would enjoy. So has anyone got any favourites?

I am currently reading Keith Richards book Life by james Fox. Like both Scar Tissue about Anthony Keidis and Slash's book it is starting out really well. I dont think I have to worry about this book eventually turning into a constant cycle of relapses into addiction and rehab like those two did considering Keiths reputation. It often amazes me how interesting these guys childhood and teenage years are. So far the book is pretty good.

I totally met Michael Nesmith and I didn't pass out

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
