Can't wait to watch this Fishbone doc. They were monster in SoCal circa 80s-90s

Further jangly enjoyment was had over at Get Off The Coast blog (a new one to me) by way of San Diego band Mrs. Magician. GOTC will point you in the right directions, but be sure and check out MM's Bandcamp pages for three more free and legals.

I just now enjoyed (and bought or reserved) some nice jangle by two groups featured at mp3hugger, New Brunswick, NJ's The Delfields and Seattle's The Young Evils. (Click bandnames to listen/download, but act quickly as the hugger doesn't keep the mp3s posted for long.) I posted two freebies by The Delfields summer before last, but both those mp3 links are down, and there's no need to peruse my patter.

You can download the latest LP by The Delfields for free at their Bandcamp page and buy previous albums by them at eMusiciTunes, and Amazon mp3.

You can buy product by The Young Evils at Bandcamp, iTunes, and Amazon mp3.

A lost classic from the 80's. Wish I saw them live. Was a smidge before my time.

A slow burner for sure, but one of my favorite Connells songs...one of Doug MacMillan's best vocals.

"It's truly incredible, how his attitude seems to have changed. He PERFORMED with the remaining Monkees, something I swear he said he would never do again after the '80s. It is baffling. As for the meeting, he was so gracious and answered…"

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
