Comment by pplist on February 9, 2011 at 12:18pm Exciting news copied and pasted from an email I just got from Green Light Go:
"Grand Atlantic
Friday, March 18
The 2nd Annual International PSYCHOUT!
Paisley Umbrella: SXSW
2928 Guadalupe Austin, TX
Show: Noon-7:00 pm
With: The Hoa Hoa's, The Broadfeild Marchers, Strangers Family Band, Runaway Suns, The Ugly Beats and The Chevelles"
What a lineup! (Someone needs to work on that "i before e" meme for the Marchers, though.) And, Julie, it looks like The Paisley Umpbrella simply got its days of the week mixed up in that flyer at their website. March 18 is a Friday.
Comment by pplist on February 8, 2011 at 1:28am In contemplating matters tribal, my mind turns naturally to a favorite Brisbane band of the late 80s, The Screaming Tribesmen, who did a very nice job of melding jangle and crunch. Below are my three favorite songs from their 1987 release, Bones + Flowers. You can hear more at Grooveshark and buy some at very reasonable prices at Amazon.

You can hear/download three mp3s at their Green Light Go publicity page. (including a cover of Big Star's "September Gurls.") Oh, what the heck, here's one to give you a taste.
