An interview with Jon and Ken from Studio Brussels broadcast on October 28, 2010 and probably done before the Brussels concert can be downloaded at

thanks for sharing! I've never seen them live, and don't live anywhere they will ever tour so I'm jealous. The more I play the new disc, the more I think it totally stands up with their best stuff.

Saw them last night at The Garage in That London, no support and they totally rocked the place. Quite a bit of stuff from the new album and you could tell they'd put some serious rehearsal time in, all the new stuff sounded great live. If anybody has tickets to see any of the shows you're in for a great time.
As for the new album, I say all power to them for trying something different, it's one of the things I've always loved about The Posies, never standing still. I think the Powerpop label they've been stuck with has never really sat well with me, they've always been more than that, (not that there's anything wrong with Powepop, I love it !)
Here's some pics from The Garage gig:

You got the package I wanted! Here's my review:
You can't really compare this new disc to their late 80's and 90's work because it is so different, but of course, we do anyway. Is it as classic and "good" as their older work? No. But I knew it would not be. This truly is a very adventurous disc, and a very good one. There are plentiful moments for the die hard Jon and Ken fan - most notably "The Glitter Prize," which is the dreamiest single I've heard in years. There are a few Pet Sounds-esque songs too, which the boys have never overtly done before. It's truly a disc that you have to sink your teeth into over time, which, having just got it, I'm still chewing on. Overall, I'd say I'm impressed, and it's better than I perhaps expected, for I did not like "Every Kind of Light."

Andy, are you sure the new Posies is coming to you, or is it a Smithereens single (see your earlier post). :)

I pre-ordered the Blood/Candy CD which is coming with a signed poster and 3 buttons plus downloads of 2 exclusive demos. Hope that comes today. The iTunes version has 4 bonus tracks (all demo versions of album tracks, different from my pre-order). I don't like having to spend so much money to get all of the different versions. It just encourages illegal downloading (not that I'd know anything about that).

Alright - the new CD is out. Mine should be arriving by mail any day now. Let's hear the verdicts.

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
