John -- I just want a copy of the main character's book on tape from east bound and down, Danny McBride has the angry redneck thing down perfect

Mike - here are some recent TV comedies I heartily recommend:

The IT Crowd
Party Down
Eastbound & Down
Modern Family
Check It Out w/Dr. Steve Brule

Lots of good comedy on the tube these days....

Jon, thanks for saying so (you know -- the whole wavelength thing). My nephew loaned me his "It's always Sunny in Philadelphia" DVDs -- not side splittingly funny but just mean spirited enough too keep me watching. It's like Seinfeld without everyone being upwardly mobile. I'm late to this show but I still endorse it whole heartedly.

I'll keep an eye out. If you're a Hicks/Oswalt guy, we're on the same wavelength.

I saw Patton Oswalt in Asheville last weekend and he was great, but watch out for his opening act Kyle Kinane -- his act was great and a bit off center

The bill hicks photo was all I needed to know I was home. Patton Oswalt is playing in Asheville in a few weeks, trying to find a loop hole in my schedule
