Big Bang Theory is hilarious. I do love nerds.

Has anyone seen "American: The Bill Hicks Story?" It's currently available via pay-per-view from my cable TV provider. I definitely want to see it, just curious if anyone has a review.

I read a lot online about how Denis Leary stole his act from Hicks. I had no idea, but confirms my opinion that Leary is a complete prick. He's an alum of my college, Emerson in Boston. He's celebrated there because of his success. Eddie Brill, comedy talent coordinator for Letterman and Leary's classmate, joked that Leary was "too busy" to show up for the 30th anniversary alumni celebration of the sketch comedy troupe he helped found called Emerson Comedy Workshop. Funny that he didn't mention that Leary steals jokes. Eddie did say that Milton Berle once introduced Robin Williams at an awards show as "Robin Material."

In 2003 and 2004, I produced a cable access TV show in Brookline, MA called "The Rec Room." It was a local comedy showcase featuring improv, sketch, and stand-up performers. Two guests, Shane Mauss and Rich Gustus, have also been on TV shows that you might have seen. Rich was on the Comedy Central cartoon "Dr. Katz." Shane's been a bunch of shows. Here's a recent clip of Shane on "Conan":

Been enjoying Marc Maron's WTF podcast lately. He converses with folks from all over the comedy spectrum, and the chats are consistently entertaining and enlightening. You may remember him as one of the Air America hosts from back in the Dark Ages of Bush. Pretty good stuff.

Going to see Todd Barry this Saturday at a small club here in KC. It's only 12 bones. Should be a goodtime.
