This is not because it's the best or for all oof the Cheap Trick worship around here. It's because this is the very first thing I seen on MTV in 1981 ( maybe 82' not sure ). I'll never forget it!

About 10 years ago I called this my favorite video ever. The combination of the song, cinematography, set design, and FIRE all done in one take does it for me. Also the singing cat puppet and the end, where Carla sticks her tongue out at us.

Ah, Centerfold. I'm pretty sure I became a man halfway through my first viewing of that one. And yeah, Aysegul, I did read Greil's book years ago. Need to get back to that one and re-read....

Anybody read Lipstick Traces: A Secret History Of The Twentieth Century from Greil Marcus? Very elaborate presentation of history of rock and punk music including Sex Pistols and many others. I saw the video Anarchy in UK, that reminded me of that book. On the back cover there was a statement like this: Just have a full sip from the wine bottle, put a Sex Pistols album in the player and enjoy .. I enjoyed it.

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
