That's total crap news....she just released a new(and pretty good) album and was doing interviews, did not encounter her mentioning the cancer she was battling...."Germ Free Adolescents" was a bonafide classic of one of the most important eras in rock 'n roll......

Those albums are selling between $25 and $30 at vinyl stores here in Canada. They're probably going to be really expensive on Ebay.

Hi Jaimie and Bruce

So i have to look out on Ebay, i guess. I do have their first LP. But my whole record collection is at my sisters office. So i don't have access to it. That is one of the reasons why i have switched back to CDl!! I have space for them at home!

Best

Robert

My original vinyl copies of the Wives albums were sold off in a massive purge last year in an attempt to save my house. Alas, the records are gone...and so is the house.

I think Jamie is the one to ask that, Robert! ;-P  I have the vinyl and cd reissue buried somewhere....thing is, i'm VERY UN-anal.  my collection is strewn out all over the place, splattered and spread, boxes of various sizes, nooks and crannies(not sure what the german translation of that phrase is!)....every few weeks, i take a box, like finding buried treasure and pull stuff out and go..."whoa!  not seen this in ___ years!".  such is my post-not lame life now.  :-D  I'll keep an eye for it, though.....

Hi Bruce

Do you have a spare copy of this first album, not a CD-R, that you would sell to me?

BTW: I love Daredevil too!!

Yeah - the Battered Wives first two albums were on Bomb. I got the rights to ALL the Bomb releases in 2001 (except The Romantics EP and the Scenics album which had both been license deals). I ended up releasing the 3 Segarinis, Twitch and David Quinton (from The Stiv Bators Band). Still unreleased are the two Wives records, Michael Holland (aka Michael Bouyea) and True Confessions.

John Gibb, the guitarist from The Battered Wives was a lot older than the other Wives and had been in a band that toured with the Stones back in '64 and '65. He is sitting on what is believed to be the earliest known live performance footage of the Rolling Stones at an outdoor show in Blackpool circa 1964. He showed it to a bunch of his one night at his house many years ago. We asked him why he hasn't sold it yet and he said he's saving it in his will for his kids (his daughter is Rebecca Gibb...wife of The Foo Fighters' Pat Smear).
