Rock and Roll Tribe

A Global Army of Veteran Rockers

And how is it going?

Looks like I have to finally give up Rhapsody. My office computer won't support it anymore. Trying Grooveshark. Too soon to tell for that one.

Any other recommends/avoids?
Thanks!

I use www.playlist.com. You can build a playlist up to 200 songs with only music you choose, and it's free. I use it at work every day.

If merely listening and not purchasing, then slacker.com is might-tee-fine.  You can fine tune your playlist to have Stephanie radio all day, all the time.  (You can make sure that folks like Rupert Holmes or Dan Hill never darken your desktop again).  I don't know about the depth of artists, as most of the stuff that I listen to on there is pretty mainstream.  I alternate between that and Pandora, which is great for discovering new artists.  You can also hit Wolfgang's Vault, which has a great set of concerts to listen to.

I will try Slacker. I don't do very well with internet algorithms (eharmony was a nightmare, pandora a groove-buster, and fb just went boring on me), but perhaps with enough fine-tuning I will be able to make it through...Besides, it's free, right? Low risk. I like that.

Diehard fan of Pandora, great way to catch new stuff.

Groovebug which gives you a little Wickibio with pictures along with the artist

and just started checking out Stitcher

I -tunes, its not bad. I downloaded a few albums, but the new releases of Magnum, Rush, Maiden, Priest, TS, and Kate Bush, I will go to the record store  for that one.

Thanks for writing. I am not too into downloading, but if I decide to...

Found Spotify on Facebook. Listening to Ryan Adams Ashes and Fire as I type. The only thing I am not in favor of are the auto updates announcing what I'm listening to, disabled that. If I want to listen something really lousey, that is my business.
lol! Autoupdates are one thing I definitely can't have. I have a very repetitive listening routine. My 'friends' would be like, "She's listening to that AGAIN? What is wrong with her?" LOL

"She's listening to that AGAIN? What is wrong with her?"

I get that all the time.  *lol

The only internet music service I really use is You Tube so I can make sure I wont buy a dud when I purchase an album since I dont download. I guess im old fashoined like that.
