Permalink Reply by shermo on March 28, 2012 at 12:51am I only heard of these guys a couple of years ago and when I eventualy got around to listening to them I realised they should of been much more popular. Kind of remind me of Creedence.
Permalink Reply by Harry on April 2, 2012 at 6:35am I need you all to discover the astonishing deep catalog of great music by Will Johnson, Centro-Matic and South San Gabriel immediately.
I don't usually subscribe to shermo's lament above, like "Why aren't these guys playing arenas?"
Hint: I'm not going to an arena....ever again
But in this case I would love to have this guy at least double his audience.
Permalink Reply by pplist on April 5, 2012 at 10:03am I'll try this again. Two of my faves by Centro-Matic

these are real toe tappers! Thanks for sharing!
Permalink Reply by shermo on April 5, 2012 at 12:47am This wasnt my style when It came out but it grew on me and I now onder how I never liked them to begin with. I'd apologise for introducing so many Australian artists but I would only be being facetious.

Permalink Reply by shermo on April 5, 2012 at 1:12am Another great track from the Beasts Of Bourbon complete with my customary spelling mistakes and incorrect grammar. These guys were not even big over here yet got rave reviews for their album 'the low road'. Typical. Long live Australian rock and all forms of rock in general.

I know you guys dig 'em, I've seen some banter in here.
I might not have heard of them but for some chatter on the pre-RnR Tribe boards the maximumjack dug me up from.
I've seen them called alterna-country, and I think that's wrong, at least wrong on the great 4 Day Tornado album.
Just straight American rock/pop that would fit in with Bryan Adams or the BoDeans, etc.
Occasionally they approach like an asymptote the line of loverboy/Night Ranger treacle but they don't go over it.
Rootsy
Kind of remind me of this old Billy Falcon album I haven't heard in 18 years.
Fans should check out my local hero and pal Todd Thibaud
Well....you should all be checking out Todd Thibaud
Permalink Reply by Harry on April 5, 2012 at 11:07am Shermo, since you're such a big fan of the Aussie rock, how about the Kiwi rock next door in New Zealand?
The Clean are over here on a tour now (as mentioned by maxjack in here)...I'm going to see them in June.
They are excellent (as is any of the other albums/groups involving David Kilgour)
