We're not even three weeks into the new year, and I find it difficult to believe I will hear a better record this year than this one:

Just stellar!

maximumjack, I need to pick one and only one of these 3 acts to see play live shortly up here...I'm torn ;<)

Nada Surf

Joy Formidable

Wild Flag

I've never seen any of the three.  I have seen Sleater-Kinney, and it was awesome.

Just the name of this album alone compels me to check it out.

These guys get my vote for best of 2012 so far.

Kathleen Edwards - Voyageur
Guided By Voices - Let's Go Eat The Factory
Cloud Nothings - Attack On Memory

Seriously, Cloud Nothings/Attack On Memory

If you have Spotify or Rhapsody, you need to listen to this album right this minute

Kathleen Edwards - Voyageur
Guided By Voices - Let's Go Eat The Factory
Cloud Nothings - Attack On Memory
Imperial Teen - Feel The Sound

Also the Nada Surf album that maximum jack mentions is awesome

Loving this one this morning: Listen to it over at NPR.org

This album maximum jack mentions is a masterpiece

Listen to it here for the next week, before it comes out...check it out.

Certain to appeal to fans of the National, Arcade Fire, Midlake, Sufjan, maybe Antony and the Johnsons....etc
