Really glad to see there is a new Army Navy album.

I will be checking that out soon.....

pplist you just created a rabid Asteroid No. 4 fan over here, and I'd never heard of them before.

Thanks.  Great stuff.

Glad you like them, too, Harry. You can check out their Rainbow Quartz page here. For some of my other favorites on the excellent Rainbow Quartz label, click here. (Scroll down when you get there.)

I'm still thinking it's too early for a list, but thanks for reminding me about that Asteroid #4 record. I liked it a lot when it came out and it kind of fell out of rotation. Will be playing it again shortly!

Army Navy - The Last Place
The Red Button - As Far As Yesterday Goes
Simon Pollard - Angels Will Come
The Drums - Portamento
Feist - Metals
Grails - Deep Politics

No particular order but somewhat of a power pop bent:

Frank Turner - England Keep My Bones

The Red Button - As Far As Yesterday Goes

Tommy Keene - Behind The parade

Smithereens - 2011

Boston Spaceships - Let It Beard

Sally Crewe & The Sudden Moves -- Transmit/Receive (its an EP, but WTF)

Ha Ha Tonka -- -Death of a Decade

Black Joe Lewis & the Honey Bears -- Scandalous

Those Darlins - Screws Get Loose

Wild Flag - s/t

Barry, really great to see Sally Crewe and the Sudden Moves on there, I haven't heard her record yet, but she was our opening act for the Tommy Keene show up here last month and she just absolutely killed it.

Reminded me a big of (another great chick-fronted Brit band) the Joy Formidable.

But it's REALLY great to see Smithereens 2011 on here...I've seen some others mention it in here but I'm only checking it out right now....sounds like they just jumped in 20 years later (notwithstanding all the cool intervening cover albums) and just hit right in stride!

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
