Permalink Reply by Stan Schwieger on February 15, 2011 at 10:40am Wanted to note that I have been joined in my crusade to banish "Freebird" by Colin Meloy of the Decemberists. From the post below:
"Turns out, Meloy holds board membership on MACOF, which stands for 'Musicians Against the Calling Out of Freebird.' He claimed executive status within the organization in 2006, after fellow uneducated fans would request the classic-rock anthem."
Don't know much about the Decemberists. And I am not a musician, so I cannot join MACOF. However I will support their cause!

To say the following songs have been played to death is an understatement of massive proportions:
1. Imagine/John Lennon
2. Bohemian Rhapsody/Queen
3. Yesterday/The Beatles
4. Hotel California/The Eagles
5. Sweet Home Alabama/Lynyrd Skynyrd
6. Layla/Derek & the Dominos
7. Layla (Unplugged)/Eric Clapton
8. Maggie May/Rod Stewart
9. Woman/John Lennon
10. I'm Still Standing/Elton John
Not so honorary mention: Anything by Pink Floyd

Sadly, they promptly commenced to play it every friggin' hour! Add this one to the list.... :o(
