A Global Army of Veteran Rockers

Not neccesarily bad songs.  Not neccesarily bad bands.  Just songs I'm really that never need to be played again.

1. Legs - ZZ Top
2. Dirty Laundry - Don Henley
3. Start Me Up - Rolling Stones

1. Nickelback - "photograph"
2. refer to #1
3. no really, did you see #1?
I can honestly say I've never heard that song, so I'm pleased about that.

And let's continue the numbering, so we have a nice massive list by the time we're done.

Thus....

#4 Nickelback - Photograph
#5 Layla - Derek & The Dominoes
#6 In The Air Tonight - Phil Collins
For me it's just about any song you hear on classic oldies radio or whatever it is they call 60's 70's music format.

#5. You Ain't Seen N-N-N-Nothin Yet - BTO (barf)
#6. Wonderful Tonight - Clapton
#7. Whiter Shade Of Pale - Proco Harem
Oh, heavens! So many, so many...

#7. Muskrat Love--Captain and Tennille
#8. Almost anything by Michael Jackson post-Jackson 5
#9. The First Time--Styx

More later, folks. Now this is what I call an important discussion!
10. Indigo Girls-Closer To Fine
11. Marc Cohn-Walking In Memphis
Most of these are 80's... But here goes.

12. We Built This City - Jefferson Starship
13. Safety Dance - Men without Hats
and a three way tie...
14. Der Kommissar - Falco (After The Fire's version is bearable)
15. 99 Luft Baloons - Nena
16. Walk like an Egyptian - Bangles

I could go on, but you get the point...
Agreed on all points.
Oh, We Built This City is THE bad music song of ALL TIME. It's official.

I should say, I actually like a bunch of the last ones mentioned.

My college radio station used to have a Bad Music show, and two of the biggest songs featured were:

17. Undercover Angel - Alan O'Day and
18. The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia - Vicki Lawrence

and I owned copies of both at the time. It's the shame of growing up in the 70s.
Oh, and:

19. Just When I Needed You Most (Robert John?)
20. Chevy Van (no idea who the artist is)
The 70's are the decade of one hit wonders... They have more "no name" hit songs than any decade that I can remember -- Who would have thought that a guy by the name of Gilbert O'Sullivan would have THAT many top 40 hits.

Sammy Johns did Chevy Van.

This really is a country song. It's amazing to me none of the recent pop-country artists haven't covered it and made it a hit on the pop country charts.

I swear, I should be a Nashville producer, I'd clean up.
tommy johns- chevy van
what about the homer simpson version of "we bulit this city"

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
