Songs I am way too cool to like.. But dammit I do anyway

Come on, we are all ( virtual) friends here.

Spill your shame songs,

we'll never tell.

Small print disclaimer..we all know one person's shame song is another's real toe tapper.

The first step is to aknowledge we were powerless...

He had me at dos..

Those aren't very shameful.  My soon-to-be 4-year old is hooked on the My Little Pony cartoon, and the theme song for that gets stuck in my head like you wouldn't believe!  At 36 seconds, maybe I should throw it in the Perfect Pop Song thread?

This puts to rest all my angst about admitting that I   like a Justin Beiber song..I am ABSOLVED!!!..

I have kid songs rolling round my brain too from the old days..The Power Ranger opening theme (go go power rangers!) is on my workout mix..

Shameful.  But one of my favorite songs. But again.  Shameful.

Well I bet you enjoy that Swiffer commercial then!

I note, with pride, that No One has jumped to the Defense of Player.  Nor, really can you.  I still crank it though, although I feel a pang of guilt every time I do.  And now, on with the Countdown!

That was the first 45 I ever bought...also, the band Jellyfish in concert used to segue that song into "Baby's Coming Back" to great effect!

what follows is a series of tunes, first heard on our kitchen  radio or on the car radio of my mom's 59 Fairlaine Ford when I was a kid. They are rare to hear in this day and age but when I do catch any of them...love!

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
