Sure, the family may not care about all that awesome stuff you scored at the record store.  But we do!

In this thread, let's post our prizes from the latest record store expedition.  For extra fun points, put yourself on video, upload to Youtube (or your fave video host) and embed it here.  (To embed, just drop the embed code into your message.)

Ok, let's do this.

So, Whaddya Buy????

Is the Steely Dan cd a good one?

I can't remember too much of it.

Don't believe it had any radio hits..........

Brian
For me - and I"m a fan - it was suprisingly 'okay' - well, worth a $5 plunge in the bargain bins. Hard to capture the spark of the 70s material, but it's a good one and enjoyable for anyone who is a fan - just don't be looking for the perfection of the classic work.

Although, of course, what they play is clinically 'perfect'. ;-P
Thanks, Bruce. I will have to check it out. I saw a used copy this week for 6.99.

TWO AGAINST NATURE was the one they released before this one I believe.

My wife LOVES that Steely Dan cd. To me it is a grower.
Grip Weeds - Strange Change Machine
Rush - Caress of Steel
Supernatural Fairy Tales: The Progressive Rock Era (Box Set)
My two latest:

The Ramones - Rocket to Russia (red vinyl!)
Thrush Hermit - Take Another Drag (7'')

(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrush_Hermit <--I saw them during a reunion tour stop last March. My face was melted clear off my skull. :D)
Speaking of Thrush Hermit - I love(d) The Flashing Lights - great band too.
Rocket to Russia is my favorite Ramones album, and red vinyl no less...sweet!
I was talking to my fellow RRT co-founder Jon about this two nights ago as we drove down to Denver to see NoMeansNo. I bought this at the Harvard Coop in Boston in late '77, the day I saw The Ramones for the second time - They did an in-store, autographed it, I took some pictures that day that I need to scan and should post in the 53rd And Third group here at The Tribe. Amazing show. It had Eddie And The Hot Rods, David Johansen Group and local Boston legend, Willie Alexander & The Boom Boom Band on the bill.
Last few I bought:
Chicago - Chicago Transit Authority (First Album)
Cheap Trick - Lap of Luxury and The Latest
Suede - Dog Man Star
Jane's Addiction - Ritual De Lo Habitual
Sleepy Sun - Embrace
A few more I recently bought:
Al Green - I Can't Stop
The Coral - Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker
Chicago's Greatest Hits
Chris Isaak - Forever Blue
James Gang's Greatest Hits
Prince - Chaos and Disorder
The Raveonettes - Whip It On
Roling Stones - Stripped
Hey! I just bought that first Chicago Transit Authority album too! For the book I'm writing for Bruce about jazz rock.

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
