Sure, the family may not care about all that awesome stuff you scored at the record store.  But we do!

In this thread, let's post our prizes from the latest record store expedition.  For extra fun points, put yourself on video, upload to Youtube (or your fave video host) and embed it here.  (To embed, just drop the embed code into your message.)

Ok, let's do this.

So, Whaddya Buy????

Oh hells yeah.  Nice haul!
Like like like on the Litter!

2 Things this weekend.

The new album from The Outfield off iTunes. Nothing too far from what they used to do back in the day, but still as melodic and awesome.

And on Friday night at the album launch party the new CD called Binary from my buddies in the local band Angelfish. Yes Shirley Manson was in a band called Angelfish but these guys were called that first and see no reason to change. Also on CDbaby and itunes if you want a listen yourselves.

Went back to the Colllege Well and picked up three early Joe Ely disks--the debut, Honky Tonk Masquerade, and Musta Notta Gotta Lotta.  All three spent a lot of time in my car stereo and on the turntable.
I bought 120+ pretty excellent powerpop, indiepop, shoegaze, psych, and garage songs at eMusic the second quarter of this year. I posted a little intro at my blog, Powerpopulist, along with the link to the full list, if you'd like to check it out. Click here for the whole series. You might also like to check out what I've been finding at a lot of my favorite music blogs, some of which translate into eMusic purchases. Click here for this Music of the Sphere series.
The 2011 release of the Aggrolites--"Rugged Road," their self titled debut along with "Dirty Reggae."  This video is a cut from their first disk. I have not encountered a bad cut on any of their releases....all Quality.  Those that like Reggae and/or Ska should rush and buy these.

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
