Agreed... every time I go the the ballgame, there's some budding Beyonce destroying it with melisma. Makes me want to run to the bathroom and hide for the whole first inning!

Woody Guthrie did not intend this as a patriotic gesture. Nor probably as a funk song. But it is funky. As Wilson Picket would say, "Lord Have Mercy."

Not exactly anti-American, more of a broken relationship song-- but it ain't patriotic either. Also, one of my favorite songs, by an underrated band.

I totally met Michael Nesmith and I didn't pass out

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up.
