That sounds about right with Chris Harford. It seems the major labels put lots of records out without offering much promotional support. (Chris thought Elektra chose the wrong song order on Be Headed. He wanted "Unsaid Things" first, but the label went with the rocker "Raise the Roof.")
I've met other musicians with similar complaints. Boston band The Red Telephone saw little success with Warner Bros. They sold more records after the label dropped them.
