Yeah, I did notice the new "get off my damn lawn" sign next to the horseshoe pit.

I'll get you the Matlock box set for your b'day.

Does he already have the Father Dowling Mysteries box set?
have them? He's doing the audio commentary! "See that kid in the back behind Father Dowling? He was a real smartass. And that girl to the left, she was talking on her damned cellphone the whole shoot. It's like these kids were raised in a barn."

I would actually enjoy the "Barnaby Jones" boxset. With a good chardoney
I'm less than a month away from 51. Feel better? And what's with all this Matlock/Barnaby crap ? I thought we were here to "get rock"! Not very tribal of you. Now quit whining and go kick some ass.
20 days away from 50. Sitting in a coffeehouse on the road in Geneseo, IL. Owner is a Deadhead. This elevated the coffeehouse, and my morning, to 'kick-ass'. Singing along to Zep with my bro-in-law the other night. Seemed 'kick=ass' at the time.

I suggest a Lawrence Welk Marathon. Myron Floren on the accordion. That's a Peach, Hon!
Iggy is 63. 'Nuff said.
Wow. All you 40 somethings really make me feel old. I'm 60 and still looking for new sounds. I admit I seldom if ever take in a concert partly because my wife's a little bit country and I'm a little bit rock and roll. Did finally get to see one of my old time favorites last year Steely Dan. I fit right in with that crowd and my wife even liked it. I keep up with current music via "The Big Takeover" which I discovered 10 years ago and have the back issues for the last 20 years. Every so often I grab a copy and search Amazon for long lost gems and current music as well.I still have about 800 Albums on vinyl as well as almost 2,600 CD's. I can't stand listening to the same stuff over and over. I love to find obscure music that time passed by. Anyhow you're only as old as you feel. I retired last year and love being a house husband. Joined netflix and have watched tons of great music videos. Enjoy
I love those obscure groups or albums time has passed by as well. Some treasures to be found there - for sure!

You should post some of your obscure treasures you've obtained!
Man , we've all been here
You asked for it Ming the Merciless. This might fit in better on some other discussion board but since you asked here are a few obscure treasures I've obtained and would love to share. The 1975 one off Armageddon with former Yardbirds singer Keith Relf is great. 5 long heavy tracks and very expensive on CD. Also recently bought a 2CD set of Jane Relf, Keith sister. She was the original singer for Renaissance. If you enjoy that group this might be of interest. When Peter Banks left Yes he formed the group Flash in 1972. First selftitled album is very good. Some late 70's favorites that are rather obscure include Tarney-Spencer Band, Pousette Dart Band and Adrian Gurvitz 1979 album Sweet Vendetta. A very mellow album from the former Baker-Gurvitz Army member. Portland OR Green Pajamas have been putting out gems for 20+ years. Leader Jeff Kellys solo albums are also good. I've enjoyed The High Llamas for years. They get compared to The Beach Boys which I don't understand. Their albums can start sounding alike as time goes on but I like em. In 1999 Blinker the Star put out an album "August Everywhere" which I really like. Paris Texas (from Wisconsin) 2004 album Like You, Like an Arsonist is red hot with lyrics you need to read and soon you'll be singing along. Don't know what happened to them after this album. The Aluminum Group from Chicago is very mellow with touches of Sergio Mendes. Great vocals and can be had cheap on Amazon. Just got a wonderful CD that came out in 2003 by an Australian singer Butterfly Boucher. Album is Flutterby and also has great lyrics. Finally out of Scotland The Trashcan Sinatras. Somewhat hard to get but 2004's Weightlifting is real nice. If you like I enjoy Teenage Fanclub you'll probably like them. Enough for now. I'd like to say what a pleasure it is to communicate with people that actually care about music and are willing to try something different or take a chance at discovering a hidden gem. Rick
