Rock and Roll Tribe

A Global Army of Veteran Rockers

Ok gang, let's have a bit of fun. here's a lyric quiz, only a couple of rules:
1. It can't be too obscure
2. If you get it first, you have to post the next one

Ok here's the first
" You wish you had a motorboat, to pose around the harbour bar........."

Good luck, ( this could just go on and on !)

Pulling Mussels from A Shell by Squeeze

Try:
"That summer feeling is gonna fly
Always try and keep the feeling inside"
Teenage Fanclub - Sparky's Dream.

OK, here's mine:

"When I put down on the pages all I've felt, it will make the hardest hearted of critic's hearts melt"
Do we get any clues Jon ?
It's from a supergroup of sorts. British. Late 70's, early 80s. This song was written and performed by the bass player. It was the lead track off the only album they ever recorded together under the band name (although they showed up on each other's solo albums regularly)
I think it's Rockpile. 'Seconds of Pleasure'. Nick Lowe penned and performed. But I don't think it's "Teacher Teacher", the "lead" track. Is it "Heart"?
It is Rockpile. and the song is....

OK, new one. This one's a two parter:

First, name the song with this lyric: radio burnin' up above, beautiful baby feed my love, all right!
your hint: It was covered by the Damned, but the song is by a midwestern American band.

Next, name the seminal 70's band that took their name from a misheard version of this line of lyrics!
1.The Stooge's "I Feel Alright". 2. Radio Birdman. The Damned also covered MC5's "Looking At You". Here is the famous "Peanut Butter" video of The Stooges. "I Feel Alright" kicks in after "TV Eye".
Gotta nit pick you -- it was called "1970". The Damned redubbed it "I Feel Alright"
...and so did The Stooges.

Nice bit of research there. I retract my nit pick. :)
And so the Baton has been passed.

"I'm a man, I'm no baby
and you're lookin' every inch a lady
you're good lookin' and you're lookin' like you should be good"

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
