An admittedly low brow idea, but I have always wanted to put together a collection of songs that feature each one of the 50 states. I can come up with the simple states (Neil Young–Alabama), but nothing springs to mind that says for instance, Delaware. So help me–-the State reference can be in the name of the band, the song title, or even a passing lyric. (However, please spare me [and the rest of us] the reference in Michael Martin Murphy’s Wildflower where he mentions a “cold Nebraska night . . .” or any other song in that zip code. I am not that desperate to fulfill this low brow idea--if I have to go there.)
Dig into those catalogs and post those songs....(for your easy reference here is a list of all 50 states: Alabama; Alaska; Arizona; Arkansas; California; Colorado; Connecticut; Delaware; Florida; Georgia; Hawaii; Idaho; Illinois; Indiana; Iowa; Kansas; Kentucky; Louisiana; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; Michigan; Minnesota; Mississippi; Missouri; Montana; Nebraska; Nevada; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New Mexico; New York; North Carolina; North Dakota; Ohio; Oklahoma; Oregon; Pennsylvania; Rhode Island; South Carolina; South Dakota; Tennessee; Texas; Utah; Vermont; Virginia; Washington; West Virginia; Wisconsin; Wyoming).
