Rock and Roll Tribe

A Global Army of Veteran Rockers

After years out of print, Lewis Shiner's GLIMPSES is being reprinted later this year.
I cannot image the person who visits these pages who wouldn't love this book.
I've read it once a year for the past ten or so.
It's that good.

This is entirely new to me. What the story with this book?
The overarching story in GLIMPSES is about this electronics repairman, Ray, who's nearing age 40, and his efforts to reconcile his love life and his feelings about his father.

He manages to escape his reality through, miraculously, escaping into some of the most legendary events in rock and roll history. He intervenes in the lives of Jim Morrison, The Beatles, Hendrix, and Brian Wilson.

Shiner writes some of the best music-related fiction of anyone. His SAY GOODBYE is also great in this regard, and in general. George Pelacanos called that one, "the Citizen Kane" of rock and roll novels.
Sounds very cool. Gonna have to poke around the local library for that one....
It is extremely cool, in my IMO. You may want to wait for the reprint, coming soon.
It's billed as a Definitive Edition.
As seen on boing boing, not only is GLIMPSES now back in print, Lewis Shiner has made it available for FREE download from his Fiction Liberation Front:

His FLF has a ton of great, free writing by Shiner:

Enjoy! And then come back here, and we'll discuss!
