A Global Army of Veteran Rockers
Post here when you are finally checking out acts that everybody else has dug forever but who somehow you've only dabbled in or managed to avoid.
Dwight Yoakam - Blame The Vain
I had an album of his early 90s, saw him on TV a few times, dug what I'd heard, but never actively sought it out. Good stuff.
I'm constantly finding stuff that I missed, thanks to YouTube, bloggers and internet communities like R&RT. These finds are usually under the radar artists or well known artists from genres or eras of which I'm not too familiar. What amazes me, is when I find an album that I sort of knew about, during a time when I was listening to similar artists-- yet still manage to not hear it for whatever reason until several years (in this case nearly 20) later. This morning I'm enjoying this album:
My reason for being a part of this is to have other eyes and ears on music that I need to be alerted to....and as an example, I found fellow member Frank Secich was a member of a fine, fine mid 70's band...Blue Ash. Here is a cover of a Beatles song from their first album:
How these I missed these guys....
I found out about Blue Ash about seven years ago. My personal fave is "I Remember a Time".
Yeah,that's Esperanto, right?
