well this is pretty freakin great

I got the last one but haven't picked this one up yet. Sounds like it's pretty rocking. I really dug Georgie James.

I love this band so much. The hramonies are fantastic and I hope other people like them too since they are really new and write great songs. Only two albums but they are sooooooo good!

It may not be rock..but good gawd it ROCKS

Blondie, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Suzi Quatro.  EXACTLY in that order!

I played the grooves out of this album in college. The foundation of the mush head that I remain to this today ,when it comes to a killer song.

major nerd factor going here but the chick can rock

Great song with an axe to grind but I think Patti is def a girl in front

I've been on a huge Barbara Manning kick over the last couple of days.  I know the terms "underrated" and "underappreciated" get thrown around a lot here at the Tribe, but she is the very definition of those words.  She's been in bands since the mid 80s.  28th Day, World of Pooh, SF Seals, Barbara Manning & the Go-Luckys! and of course, she's released some solo albums too.  Although she hasn't released anything officially since 2001, I've heard that she has been active in the San Francisco area with at least two bands: Sleaze Tax (kind of a pop-punk vehicle) and Champion (a bit more alt-countrish).  Anybody else around here a fan?  I feel a Barbara Manning Primer Compilation is in the near future over at Burn and Shine (which has been pretty dormant over the summer months).  Here's a classic from her solo album On Perfect Green Blanket (1991):

Totally agreed. Deeply underestimated. It would be great to see some compilation or reissue action soon!

I totally met Michael Nesmith and I didn't pass out

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
