Cognitive Dissonance...mostly hate this band...but kind of love this song

There are bands I have a snotty disdain for yet when a particular song of theirs comes on..well..I have mixed feelings.wabi sabi, approach avoidance. Who does that to you?

Bad Company..I kind of love Burnin Sky..but when I shuffle through other offerings, I don't find much I can sit through ok...maybe this one too..although it's more if it comes on the radio I won't switch channels and not so much I would put this into my mix.

I actively dig 6-7 of their tunes...mostly the obvious ones...I figure if hepsters can give ZZ Top a free pass why not Bad Company...

This one is pretty goood too but having a song named after your band is a bit cheesey

Probably because Bad Company were a "supergroup", with all the good and bad that comes with it.

For my money, BC were never as good as the groups they came from - Free, Mott the Hoople, and King Crimson. Neither were Crosby, Stills, and Nash, but that's probably another topic.

Agreed. To me they were a band with a fantastic singer who good run of catchy tunes-if they had a bit more raunch they'd be remembered more fondly...

Sammy Hagar ok vocals... Still Eddie saves the day

I do not listen to a lot of Prince but I was reminded last night in the most lovely of mashup of tunes..Ain't No Sunshine" and When Doves Cry..(sang but a folkie in a trucker hat..I can't explain how it worked but gawd it was nice). I would post When Doves Cry but Prince does not put his stuff on You Tube, so I hear. That song..takes me back to my first job out of college, Boys Town, working in a house of teen age boys. It was Thriller and Purple Rain on the stereo all the time

If you liked Poison at high school your sexuality was automaticaly questioned and I did think they had a fair bit of run of the mill hair metal stuff but got it right every now and then.

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
