Cognitive Dissonance...mostly hate this band...but kind of love this song

There are bands I have a snotty disdain for yet when a particular song of theirs comes on..well..I have mixed feelings.wabi sabi, approach avoidance. Who does that to you?

"Unfriend"

Maybe this was a bad example for this particular thread, cause I didn't really hate them. It's just that nothing they did really caught my ear until this one song. I did, however, hate everything they did from that point on ...

Loathe the Four Seasons... they're just nails on the chalkboard to me. However, "Saturday's Father" is pretty amazing.

Kenny Rogers... generally pretty awful, but this is a slab of some pretty awesome psychedelic schmaltz.

Hate hate hate David Lee Roth...he single handedly destroyed any credibility Spandex could of ever hoped for...

I do have to say Eddie Van Halen is a fine guitar player and  i am fond of a few of their songs..the shame..the horror! I am now in the witness protection program wearing a fake stash as I admit to this..but here it is

How can you hate the guy that spawned this thing?

I'm not particularly a fan of VH, but saw Roth for free at the Michigan State Fair some time ago and he was pretty entertaining. The outfit (a b/w satin harlequin number, not buttless, thank gawd) was worth the price of admission alone.

Ok...Julie..busted..it's not hate..

instead..I suffer from displaced DLR hair envy..

This clip from Conan's 10th ann. show..sit tight for DLR was most likley at the root of this much misunderstood disorder...

I dislike (most of) Van Halen, but I loves me some Van Hagar.  And who can hate a band that has classic lyrics such as "only time will tell whether we stand the test of time."  Steve Miller himself (rhyming Texas and "facts is") could do no worse.  Well, maybe a bit worse.

as long as I'm outing my questionable taste...

These guys come up on shuffle so much, it's like they are stalking me...they have alot of good songs

alot of the cheesier John Lennon solo stuff seems to be stalking me on shuffle too- like Whatever Gets You Through the Night

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
