Love Paul..LOVE Linda..Love they were like boy friend and girl friend all through their beautiful marriage... Marriage does not always mean making beautiful music together. Case in point : Wings ...but Venus and Mars and Rock Show...it's a long time fave

Permalink Reply by Stan Schwieger on February 15, 2012 at 8:15pm I have a white hot HATE for Billy Joel. Why not?--"Just the Way You Are," "Its Still Rock and Roll to Me." You name it--if Billy Joel did it, I outright HATE it. Except for this song.
Why? In the infamous words of Jeff Probst, "I got nothing for you."
Permalink Reply by maximum jack on February 16, 2012 at 10:43am Okay, I got one. I know it's not cool to like Styx. Truthfully, I wouldn't hold it against anyone, and by no means do I hate them. I don't have anything of theirs in my possession, but if this one were to come up on the radio as I was driving around town, I would probably reach for the volume knob and turn it up:
My sister was a huge fan (she's 10 years older than me) so I heard every single Styx album multiple times. Cannot handle the ballads. . . but there are probably a couple other tunes I wouldn't mind hearing again. "Blue Collar Man" from the same album comes to mind.
Permalink Reply by shermo on February 24, 2012 at 7:23am Maximum that really is one hell of a song. Obviously never made it big over here in Oz as I only heard it for the 1st time on the soundtrack to The Lost and the dammned on xbox 360 and was really impressed and have never heard it played on the radio. I now know to look up 'blue collar man'. Good stuff. Funny how some bands have ballads that turn your stomach yet rock songs that make you want to move. Foreigner and Bon Jovi come to mind.
Permalink Reply by maximum jack on February 16, 2012 at 10:47am Oh, and I love a lot of Billy Joel and most PM&W stuff too. Journey was a biggie in my household growing up too, so I have fond memories of a lot of their 70s output.
Permalink Reply by Stan Schwieger on February 16, 2012 at 2:20pm I mean no derision toward anyone who may like Mr. Joel or any of his ilk, and don't mean anything here to be interpreted as that--because I can only speak for moi. Hell, I am a big musical tent guy...However, having said that, I still HATE Billy Joel.
Permalink Reply by Gail Manchester on February 16, 2012 at 2:47pm This is not to tork anyone off..Harry do you hear??.. Harry may already be in route to deepest Nebraska to kick ass and take names..Please do not tell him which shrubbery I am hiding behind..please!
This discussion came to me when in the car, a certain song came on and as I reached over to crank it to 11 and was confronted by the child riding with me, "I thought you hated these guys.."
In high school dreamy Tommy with his wild blonde tresses was pretty dreamy and who would NOT want to slow dance to Lady..?..but Mr Roboto...uh no...def not!!

This may get someone's boxers in a bunch...The Eagles...love to hate them. They are kind of benign like a giant bowl of vanilla pudding. except this song..I LOVE this song. I even sat through an Eagles show for my husband a few years back here in O town. It was the hell froze over all over again tour or something like that. Yes, they all looked super cool with their synchronized strumming and suits but I felt like I was in a coma until Joe Walsh took over and brought the ceiling down. Why don't I like the Eagles?..I can't tell you why.
