Rock and Roll Tribe

A Global Army of Veteran Rockers

Okay, I'm in a SERIOUSLY foul mood tonight due to posturing work bullshit.  Nothing like a little loud music to calm a girl down.  Any suggestions for some good, loud, angry (or sarcastic) songs?  I'm starting with "I Don't Care About You" by Fear but that's a short playlist.

Anything by NoMeansNo....Then there's the good old Sex Pistols -- Liar and No Feelings are good ones....Elvis Costello from My Aim is true and This Years Model....Black Flag.
If the Mood Persists today, I always found that Goon Squad, from Elvis Costello's Armed Forces at 11 always set the tone for me. The Clash's "Give 'Em Enough Rope" always seemed to hit the spot too.
Thanks, guys! I've calmed down today but these are excellent suggestions for the next time it happens, and it's a pretty common occurrence at a start-up company. The good news is that I have the go-ahead to make punk part of the corporate culture. Our "fight song" is the theme to "Underdog" as performed by the Butthole Surfers. :)
Sounds cool. What the start-up about?

We have an innovative chemical formulation that kills bacteria, algae and funghi on contact and continues to provide protection (when correctly applied) for 21 days. It has an unbelievable number of applications, but sticking to the ones that are in production now, it can eliminate e. coli and salmonella (and other nasty bugs) and provide continuous protection throughout the food supply chain. For example, if treated (properly) at the packing plant, meat (or salad, or anything really) can make it to the restaurant, be infected there by someone who failed to use proper hygiene, and it will still kill the bacteria if it's within 21 days.

As a cool side effect, most food spoilage is caused by bacteria or mold. So if you spray food with it, the food (meat, vegetables, whatever) will last for 21 days. It's natural, EPA-approved (this trumps FDA approval), and about to get organic certification. GREAT product. Usual bumps in the road getting it out there.

"Group Rate" by the Mentors.
That's pretty impressive stuff. I mean, it's not as valuable to the human race as a social network for veteran rockers or anything, but still, pretty cool. :)

Lots of luck -- it really does sound like something that will make a difference.

LOL! Well, most of us (in my startup, I mean) are veteran rockers and my CEO is a friend I met on the ancient version of social networking (Usenet) so we dovetail nicely. ;) In fact, last night he said "Right now we're the best garage band on Wall Street."

You've truly got something great going here. I'm a bit busy at the moment but I'd like to interview you about it (in my day job, I'm a freelance journalist).
Hell yeah -- getting press is high on our list for the fall. It's funny, I used to own a PR agency and, maybe because I've turned the page so completely on that part to my life, getting PR is probably the one thing I'm least looking forward to.

So having a journalist come to me is right up my alley. :)

Anytime you want, Nancy..... (and if you have any journalist pals you wanna send our way, that would be more than great)
"Institutionalized" -Suicidal Tendencies
