Rock and Roll Tribe

A Global Army of Veteran Rockers

Have loved following the "album of 2010" discussion. Thought I'd get a little more granular based on Stu Pope's 'mix tape' idea (which has some absolutely amazing song choices on it!)... we could come up with our own version of the Time/Life series .... only 3 easy payments of $19.95 (one one difficult payment to be paid in four-leaf clovers and an old autographed picture of Burt Reynolds circa "Canonball Run") - a shameless riff on a Mitch Hedberg (RIP) bit - which, if you've never listened to his stuff - beat it out of here and get over to Youtube right now!

so my songs of the year were (and i'm including stuff that - shame on me - heard for the first time in '10)

1- "The Glitter Prize" - Posies (Blood/Candy)

2- "Licences to Hide" - Posies (Blood/Candy)

3- "Neighbor" - Band of Horses (Infinite Arms)

4- "Honest" - Band of Skulls (Baby Darling Dollface Honey)

5- "Growing Old is Getting Old" - Silversun Pickups (Swoon)

Great idea! Here's mine:

1. "Resolution" - Steve Wynn & The Miracle 3

2. "Better Off Without It" - The Greenhornes

3. "After You're Gone" - Len Price 3

4. "Rock and Roll World" - The Swingin Neckbreakers

5. "You're Not Walking Away" - The Grip Weeds

So Mike Nesmith. Yeah. WTF, right? Private, reclusive, mysterious for many years. A couple of years back, he got on Facebook and he posts long, winding tales about himself, his dogs, his home, his past, and a really lovely Mother's Day post last weekend. Photos go up. The whole thing. It's like he disappeared and then came back on his own terms. I didn't know how to take it. I'm a huge Monkees fan, no doubt. And, being a woman/girl of a certain age, I have a favorite and that favorite is Mike.…See More
